Question about Polish scene
Question:
Hails! In my quest for something new and exciting in the realms of Black Metal, I have decided that it’s finally time to explore this polish scene I’ve heard so much about. Could someone please post some info, websites, bandlists (yes I already know Graveland) or whatever.
why not try the exotic scenes? that’s where you will really find REAL black metal music!

This guy has it going on: http://www.blackmetal.com/~mega/PBM/index2.html "Anyone can post messages to the net. Practically everyone does. The resulting cacophony drowns out serious discussion. Online debates of tough issues are often polarized by messages taking extreme positions. It’s a great medium for trivia and hobbies, but not the place for reasoned, reflective judgment. Surprisingly often, discussions degenerate into acrimony, insults, and flames." –Clifford Stoll
Response:
i don’t know why poland is considered to have a scene.
your ignorance they have a scene only in the sense that portugal, italy, france, and all theswe other random european countries have scenes. that is to say, there are a few bands there who play unoriginal crap and define a scene for themselves on the basis of nationality similarly to how the norwegian bands did way back when.
your opinion in my opinion, the only countries that really have scenes are norway sweden and greece. they are the countries that started the whole thing, and they are the countries whose bands have any kind of distinct identity. greek bands like rotting christ and varathron did as much to start modern black metal as did mayhem.
more opinion anyways, all the stuff that comes out of poland sucks. if you like transylvanian hunger and what anither generic record of the samde kind, ju7st about any polish black metal record should do it.
more opinion. youre strong on opinion, short on cogent argument. If you dont appreciate the sound of darkthrone, graveland, burzum, etc. then maybe you should try alt.music.death-metal-losers one thing i don’t get about the polish scene is why som many of them call themselvces nazi bands. nazis are pro aryan and explicitly anti slavic. the poles are slavic, so it seems kind of self destructive to me. i guess all the black metal polish bands who claim to be so natiojalistic don’t know anything about their countries history. when the germans occupied poland in wwii, they killed about 3 million poles in the concentration camps. thats a massacre on the scale of the murder of the 6 millilon jews.
and none of these 3 million poles were jews, handicapped, etc.? "Anyone can post messages to the net. Practically everyone does. The resulting cacophony drowns out serious discussion.
